CENTER FOR WOMEN IN DEVELOPMENT (CEWODE)

Centre for Women in Development (CEWODE) is a non-profiting, non-governmental, Women’s organization actively engaged in protecting women’s rights and working to empower them to upgrade their quality of life. CEWODE members include women, women’s groups and organizations that are dedicated and committed to address the issues of discrimination, exploitation and inequality faced by Uganda women.

CEWODE believes that violation of women’s civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, in formal and informal institutions, perpetuates vicious cycle of violence against them. Guided by rights based integrated and feminist approaches, CEWODE work encompasses policy advocacy, networking, capacity building and developing women’s agencies. CEWODE works with duty bearers at all levels to create support mechanisms to promote access to justice, peace, good
governance for women and girls.
