Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment

Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment

Women's economic empowerment includes women's ability to participate equally in existing
markets; their access to and control over productive resources, access to decent work,
control over their own time, lives and bodies; and increased voice, agency and meaningful
participation in economic decision-making at all levels. Expanding women’s access to
quality employment opportunities and productive assets benefits them, their families, and
their communities.
CEWODE implements micro-level interventions such as savings and business training for
women, and works with local governments and the private sector to implement economic
activities and unlock the huge economic potential of women and girls in Uganda.
