Advocacy and Campaigning

CEWODE conducts research on laws and policies to identify gaps and challenges in the
provision of justice to the poor, marginalized and disadvantages women in Uganda.
CEWODE continuously advocates and campaigns for the amendments of discriminatory
laws and policies. CEWODE conducts advocacy on several issues such as reform on the
punishment and compensation of women victims of Acid attack, on the punishment and
compensation for victims of rape of women and girls legal reform, gender equality,
abolition of discriminatory laws and policies and enactment of gender friendly laws,
improving women’s access to justice and judicial system, improving status of women in
society, protection and promotion of women’s rights.
