CEWODE believes in recognizing agency of women and supporting them to develop and make them realize their own power within and their own agency. Hence, supporting women and their institutions to realize their own power within to bring a transformation for gender equality and women’s rights lies at the core of CEWODE’s approaches and programs.

CEWODE is working to build Women’s individual and collective agencies, supporting and increasing them in leadership, implementing collective actions and their institutions from grassroots to national levels to create a just society.

Centre for Women in Development (CEWODE) is a non-profiting, non-governmental, Women’s organization actively engaged in protecting women’s rights and working to empower them to upgrade their quality of life. CEWODE members include women, women’s groups and organizations that are dedicated and committed to address the issues of discrimination, exploitation and inequality faced by Uganda women.
